About me
Clara Costa D'Elia is a Brazilian-Italian figurative painter based in Florence. Born and raised in São Paulo, she studied biology and worked in scientific illustration at the University of São Paulo before relocating to Italy to pursue an art education. She graduated from the three-year Diploma in Classical Art at the Academy of Classical Art in Florence and currently serves as teaching assistant and staff at Accademia Nuova. Her work has been exhibited in São Paulo and Florence. D'Elia brings to her work both the precision of scientific observation and the weight of lived experience. Her art is rooted in her memories, emotions and structures, in a constant dialogue between classical technique and contemporary meaning.
